The West Virginia Governor’s Highway Safety Program is beginning its annual summer push to get drivers to obey the speed limit through the “Speeding Catches Up with You” program.

In 2023, deaths that were related to speeding increased in West Virginia by 18 percent with 72 deaths in 2022 and 85 in 2023.
