After defeating the New York Islanders on Thursday, 5-3, the Philadelphia Flyers (21-20-6) traveled down to Newark, New Jersey, to take on the New Jersey Devils (26-16-6) in another Metropolitan Division showdown.

The Flyers won a defensive grind over the Devils, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at the Prudential Center. Matvei Michkov and Bobby Brink provided the Flyers’ goals. Brink’s came in the third period on the power play to give the Flyers the lead.

Sean Couturier had a goal and an assist, Travis Konecny added three assists and the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the New York Islanders 5-3.

The NHL Department of Player Safety was kept busy by the recent meeting between the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders. In the first period, Flyers forward Ryan Poheling took a huge hit from Islanders forward Maxin Tsyplakov that resulted in a hearing for Tsyplakov.
