Federal authorities Friday announced 30 arrests and more than 43 people charged in connection with an alleged drug cartel laundering scheme centered in Houston that saw cellphones purchased and sold to launder money to Mexico.

The operation targeted a money laundering network that allegedly worked with criminal organizations, including the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNC).
