Brunson and Towns represent the first pair of Knicks teammates to start in the All-Star Game since 1975, when Earl “The Pearl” Monroe and Walt “Clyde” Frazier donned the orange and blue.

Jalen Brunson, who was born in New Brunswick and was snubbed as a starter last year, will start in the backcourt, while Piscataway native and former St. Joe’s-Metuchen big man Karl-Anthony Towns will start in the frontcourt. The game is set for Feb. 16 at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

Kendrick Perkins thinks the Karl-Anthony Towns trade has been great for New York and awful for Minnesota. When the New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves agreed to trade Karl-Anthony Towns for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo, the move was seen as a win-win for both teams.
