Cole's French Dip in downtown Los Angeles, the city's oldest operating restaurant, is closing due to economic pressures.

The iconic restaurant and bar cited the Covid-19 pandemic, crime, rising labor, goods and rent costs for the closure.

“Many historical independent restaurants are struggling under the weight of these issues and have already closed, while those remaining are fighting to survive,” Moses said in an emailed statement to Eater.
