Arsenal are back in Champions League action tonight as they host Dinamo Zagreb. Having amassed 13 points from their opening six games, the Gunners can qualify for the knockout round with victory at the Emirates Stadium. In fact, a win could be enough to secure a bye to the last-16 stage but that depends on results elsewhere.

Mikel Arteta remains hopeful that William Saliba will be fit in time for Arsenal’s crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City. The French centre-back suffered a hamstring injury during the North London derby and was absent from the weekend’s draw with Aston Villa.

The defensive absences do not stop there. Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are both ruled out with knee injuries, leaving Arsenal thin at the back. Jakub Kiwior is expected to step into central defence in what could be a rare European start for the Polish international.

Oddly enough, Zagreb’s two wins in the Champions League came on the road — 2-0 over RB Salzburg (with an RB red card) and 4-1 over Slovan Bratislava. They were also mauled by Bayern Munich 9-2 on MD1 and lost 3-0 to Borussia Dortmund at the end of November.
