Royals sign Cavan Biggio, son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio

Cavan is the son of Baseball Hall of Famer Craig Biggio, a seven-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glove winner. But he has not had much success creating his own MLB name as he has logged a .225 batting average in six career seasons.
The Royals announced that utilityman Cavan Biggio has been signed to a minor league contract. While no mention was made in the team’s official announcement, it can be assumed that Biggio received an invitation to Kansas City’s big league Spring Training camp.
