The Boston Bruins fell 6-2 to the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night, but everyone who witnessed the game at TD Garden knows that it was the Bruins who beat themselves.

Stylistically, the Jets expect a bit of a shift from their two opponents from the home stand in Utah and Calgary. Utah is a team among the National Hockey League’s best in terms of minimizing high-danger chances against (according to Natural Stat Trick), and the game against Calgary was tight right until the Jets broke it open in the third.

The Bruins tied the game, oh so briefly, on Elias Lindholm's shorthanded goal 11 seconds into the third period before the Jets responded three times in five-plus minutes.

Montreal always seems to give Winnipeg a tough test, especially in their own building. The Jets lost 4-3 in a shootout during last year’s annual visit (Laurent Brossoit was in net), and fell 4-1 the previous season (with Hellebuyck between the pipes).

With the Bruins trailing by a goal early in the third period, they had an offensive zone faceoff in the Jets end despite being short-handed. Pavel Zacha won the draw cleanly to Elias Lindholm who snapped it by Hellebuyck to tie the game, 11 seconds into the third.

Kyle Connor scored twice and Connor Hellebuyck made 24 saves as the Winnipeg Jets won their fourth in a row, 4-1 over the Montreal Canadiens.
