Madison Keys has upset former runner-up Elena Rybakina to set up an Australian Open quarter-final with inspired veteran Elina Svitolina.

19th seed Madison Keys of the United States has reached the Australian Open quarter-finals for the fourth time in her career. She clinched a hard-fought win over sixth seed Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan. The match lasted 1 hour and 49 minutes, ending with a scoreline of 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 in favor of Keys.

Keys got the better of her childhood rival, who has become a controversial figure in Melbourne, on Rod Laver Arena, and made new fans with her ringing endorsement of the city’s coffee scene.

She also said fans who heckled her were contributing to "the Danielle Collins fund" which she would use to go to the Bahamas

Then came the unusual sight of a 20-minute delay because the net at Rod Laver Arena detached from the court after being hit by a big Sinner serve.
