Agent returning for its sophomore season, fans can expect plenty more “night action” from its star. Ahead of Season 2 of the conspiracy thriller series, which returns Jan. 23 to Netflix, star Gabriel Basso opened up about taking hits and doing his own stunts as FBI agent Peter Sutherland.

Lara Spencer jokingly scolded “The Night Agent” star Gabriel Basso for the one-word title he gave her during their sit-down interview on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday. After discussing Season 2 of Basso’s Netflix action series, Spencer praised the actor for being “so authentic.”

During Gabriel Basso’s Thursday appearance on “Live With Kelly and Mark,” the “Night Agent” star comically attempted to avoid hugging Kelly Ripa in front of her longtime husband, Mark Consuelos. Basso, 30, who was on the morning show to promote Season 2 of the Netflix thriller, walked out and approached Ripa with his hand extended outward.

Actor Gabriel Basso — star of Netflix's action series The Night Agent and performer who played VP-elect J.D. Vance in Hillbilly Elegy — received the notice Wednesday morning, as he sat with Spencer for a live GMA interview pegged to season 2 of the TV project.

Basso stars in the Netflix series as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who works in the White House as a Night Action telephone operator. He told Fallon, 50, that when the audience watches The Night Agent, he wants them to feel that his performance is believable.

The way it all comes together is “sick in the best way possible,” says Amanda Warren, who joins as Peter’s new boss Catherine in Season 2. “It’s really, really exciting how they’ve been able to layer everything into this one season, but still have the same kind of nucleus in focus, if you will.”
