Jeff Ulbrich is keeping his options open. The Jets interim head coach completed an interview with the Falcons for their vacant defensive coordinator position on Wednesday. Ulbrich, 47, has plenty of connections with the Falcons, a team with which he held various defensive coaching positions from 2015-20.
Ron Rivera , Mike Vrabel, Rex Ryan, Matt Nagy, Aaron Glenn, Mike Locksley, Steve Spagnuolo, Darren Rizzi, and Jeff Ulbrich have all been interviewed for the Jets coaching position. Vrabel was hired as the coach of the Patriots on Jan. 12.
The Jets formally interviewed Ulbrich for their opening. Ulbrich was thrown into the role of interim head coach on Oct. 8 after Robert Saleh was fired. The Jets went 3-9 under Ulbrich and finished 5-12 overall. Ulbrich is very popular among the players and in the Jets’ building, but he is considered a long shot to keep the job.
