The Atlanta Falcons have hired their new defensive coordinator. Atlanta is hiring former New York Jets defensive coordinator and interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The Falcons hire Jeff Ulbrich as defensive coordinator, looking to turn around a defense that ranked 23rd in total yards allowed last season.

The Atlanta Falcons are hiring Ulbrich as their new defensive coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported, per sources informed of the situation. The team announced the hire shortly after the report.

The Jets interviewed Ulbrich for their full-time coaching position, but he was always a long shot to get the job.
