A potent cluster of thunderstorms that ripped down trees and flooded roads in parts of the region spawned a tornado in South Jersey on Friday afternoon, the National Weather Service confirmed. And the weather service has issued another severe thunderstorm watch for for the entire region in effect until 11:59 p.

The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed a tornado touched down in Atlantic County, New Jersey, during Friday’s severe storms. The twister was rated as an EF-0, with max winds of 65 mph to 75 mph.

At least five people have died and more than 5,000 buildings were damaged after a tornado tore through St Louis in Missouri. The tornado swept along a major road, tearing roofs off houses, uprooting trees and knocking down power lines on Friday evening.
