Under the state-federal partnership, an unspecified number of KBI agents would receive ICE training allowing them to issue immigration detainers, serve warrants for some immigration violations and arrest people allegedly in the U.

KBI Director Tony Mattivi told The Star his agents will only be involved in arresting immigrants with a known criminal history.

Under the agreement, select agents will receive ICE training to arrest illegal immigrants, execute warrants, and issue immigration detainers.
