Democratic senators plan to question President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for attorney general about her history as a lobbyist and the potential conflicts of interest, a clear display of how the party’s early attacks on Trump 2.0 are focused on corporate influence over the new administration.

Another day, another Democratic embarrassment during confirmation hearings. This time, it was the Senate Judiciary Committee and the nominee was attorney general hopeful Pam Bondi, former attorney general of Florida.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., raised concerns about Bondi’s ability to say no to Trump, saying he isn’t convinced the attorney general nominee has “the grit and gumption” to say no to the incoming president.
