There's a lot of excitement surrounding Ashton Jeanty as he took the Raiders practice field for the first time Friday.

Las Vegas Raiders first-round draft pick Ashton Jeanty signed his four-year rookie contract. Jeanty's representation told multiple outlets the deal was fully guaranteed and matches the NFL assigned max value of the draft slot for the sixth overall pick --$35,

Not Ashton Jeanty. As of this writing, the sixth overall pick becomes the highest draft pick to have signed their rookie contract, and one of only a few first round picks to have signed so far. Jeanty was the Raiders top pick at six overall out of Boise State.

The club uses their second-round pick to take a huge risk. Whether it be a character flag, medical flag or wild swing for the fences, Jerry Jones insisted on trying to game the system by taking a huge risk in the round.

A former Pro Bowl linebacker will be taking part in the Las Vegas Raiders' minicamp. Jaylon Smith, a former Dallas Cowboys second-round pick who hasn't played in a regular season game since 2023, is participating in the Raiders' minicamp on a tryout basis.

The Raiders took a flyer on him back in 2023, but he only played in one game and was eventually released. He wasn't able to land with another team for the 2024 season. However, the Raiders have a new coaching staff in place and appear to be interested in him.

Veteran linebacker Jaylon Smith is participating in the Raiders' rookie minicamp on a tryout basis this weekend, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
