Salvage crews have recovered an engine and large pieces of fuselage and are working to retrieve a wing from wreckage of last week’s midair collision near Washington’s Reagan National Airport.

Recovery teams lifted an engine and other parts of the American Airlines plane that collided with an Army Black Hawk helicopter, killing 67 people. They were attempting to recover the last of the victims.

Crews began the complex job of lifting American Airlines Flight 5432 from the Potomac River after it collided with an Army Black Hawk helicopter in the Washington, D.C., area.
