Several schools in the Fort Worth Independent School District could be obsolete if the school board approves their closures. According to reports from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the reasons for these closures include declining enrollment and decaying buildings.

The district plans to present its finalized list of closures to the Board of Trustees during a special meeting Tuesday.

Officials in the Fort Worth Independent School District say that closing and consolidating more than a dozen campuses would save the district millions of dollars over the next five years, allowing them to redirect more money toward academic priorities.
