Android 16 Beta 1 is rolling out with major improvements to how apps render on large screens and a new notification type called Live Updates

Android 16’s first public beta will start rolling out later today, bringing with it dynamic lockscreen notifications for ride-sharing and food delivery, following yesterday’s reveal of a similar feature in Samsung’s Galaxy S25 phones.

Android 16’s beta features now includes resizable apps for large screens and a compact lock screen view for cleaner notifications.
